Week 3: Productivity! Work in Waves

Hello again, and get ready to shift gears!

This week is the most intense week of the course in terms of changes you’re about to make to your workday. The radical shift we’re going to make is from seeing productivity as a process of ‘doing’, to viewing it as a process of ‘doing and non-doing’.

The non-doing part is often the most difficult of the two. We know how to work hard, but can we dip in and out of that focused state at will? And can we give ourselves permission to relax, fully relax, afterwards?

Non-doing and relaxation for productivity aren’t just a nice idea; it really works. Working in waves revolutionised my own PhD productivity, and I am hoping it will be as useful for you as it has been for me.

It takes courage (and a little discipline) to go against the norm of always pushing harder. But I know you can do it!
